Getting Physical

Exercising regularly may help control your diabetes and help improve your quality of life. It may help make you feel stronger, more energetic and less stressed. There are many ways to exercise. Exercise is anything that gets you moving. Try to be active for at least 30 minutes on most days.

Being active may help:

  • Control blood sugar
  • Lower risk of heart disease and stroke
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Lower LDL (bad) cholesterol level
  • Improve sleep
  • Develop a stronger body
  • Improve flexibility
  • Boost energy level
  • Reduce stress
